  • Moccasins Earn Two AVCA Academic Awards

    LEXINGTON, KY - Florida Southern College earned a pair of team AVCA Team Academic Awards, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Monday. The Moccasins earned the award in both beach and indoor volleyball. This year's round of awards marks the 11th-straight time that indoor volleyball has been honored, while beach volleyball earns the honor in its inaugural season.

  • Keime Signs Four More for 2019

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball head coach Hyrum Keime has announced the addition of four more student-athletes who will join the Moccasins for the 2018-19 academic year. The quartet will join Florida Southern for its second season as a beach volleyball program after the sport was added prior to the 2017-18 year. The four new signees consist of Gigi Chiaramonte, Haley Goodrich, Kennedy Mathews, and Curry Ward.

    LAKELAND, FL - Due to heavy storms and rain that swept through Central Florida on Tuesday, contests involving Florida Southern College beach volleyball, women's lacrosse, and men's tennis have been postponed. The Moccasin beach volleyball team was slated to play at Tampa at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, but that match has now been moved to April 23 at 7 p.m. in Tampa.

    TAVARES, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball split a pair of matches in consolation play at the AVCA Small College Championships on Sunday at Hickory Point Beach, defeating Lincoln Memorial by a 3-2 final before falling to Saint Leo by the same score. The Moccasins (5-17) picked up wins at the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4 matchups to defeat the Lady Railsplitters, but dropped the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 against the Lions in the final match of the day.

    TAVARES, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball wrapped up its first day at the AVCA Small College Championships on Saturday at Hickory Point Beach with losses to Tampa, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and Eckerd. The Moccasins (4-16) fell in straight sets to all three opponents and were eliminated by Eckerd in bracket play after falling to Tampa and Texas A&M-Kingsville in pool play.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball split its final pair of home matches on Tuesday at Ruthven Beach, falling to Lincoln Memorial by a 4-1 score before defeating Tampa, 3-2, in the final contest of the day. The Moccasins (4-13) got a win at the No. 2 spot in the match against the Lady Railsplitters (5-4) and finished off the Spartans (8-8) in dramatic fashion with a pair of three-set wins to clinch the contest.

    SAINT LEO, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball defeated Saint Leo but fell to both Eckerd and No. 13 Florida International on Saturday to wrap up the Saint Leo Invitational at the Saint Leo Beach Volleyball Courts. The Moccasins (3-12) took down the Lions (1-4) by a 3-2 final, before falling by 5-0 scores to both the Tritons (11-5) and Panthers (15-5).

The Moccasins (2-9) fell to SPC in the first match, before dropping the final match of the day to the Owls.

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball split a pair of matches in its home debut on Saturday at Ruthven Beach. The Moccasins (2-7) earned a 3-2 win over Stevenson (7-5) in the first match of the day, before falling to Saint Leo (1-1) in the final contest of the afternoon. Stevenson topped Saint Leo by a 3-2 margin in between Florida Southern's contest.

    DELAND, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball dropped a 5-0 decision to Stetson on Friday at the Stetson Beach Blast. The Moccasins (1-4) were unable to match a strong lineup put out by the Hatters (6-5). Florida Southern fell in straight sets in each matchup, with the team of Courtney Charneco and Makena Wilson nearly pushing their No. 3 match to three sets before ultimately falling by a 21-9, 2-19 final.

PETERSBURG, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball picked up the first win in program history as it split its final two matches on the last day of the Battle on the Bay at the North Shore Sand Courts in St. Petersburg on Saturday afternoon. The Moccasins (1-3) snagged a 3-2 win over Morehead State in the first match of the day before falling to tournament host Eckerd, 4-1, in the last match of the weekend.
