    TAMPA, FL - Florida Southern College men's basketball used a barrage of three-pointers to shoot past Tampa, 107-94, in Sunshine State Conference action on Wednesday evening at the Bob Martinez Center. The Moccasins (10-8, 4-6 SSC) shot a season-high 46.2 percent (12-of-26) from beyond the arc and had three players score at least 20 points to move a game ahead of the Spartans (7-9, 3-7) in the conference standings.

    LAKELAND, FL - After both teams rallied back from double-digit deficits to force multiple overtimes, Florida Southern College men's basketball came up just short in a 117-111, double-overtime loss to Sunshine State Conference rival Rollins on Saturday at Jenkins Field House. The Moccasins (9-8, 3-6 SSC) hit a pair of three-pointers in the final 30 seconds to send the game to overtime, but the Tars (11-7, 7-3) were able to outlast Florida Southern to snag their third-straight win.

    MIAMI SHORES, FL - Florida Southern College men's basketball was unable to overcome a hot-shooting Barry squad as it fell, 102-80, in a Sunshine State Conference road game on Wednesday evening at the Health & Sports Center. The Moccasins (9-7, 3-5 SSC) hung tough with the No. 11 Buccaneers (11-2, 7-1) for the opening part of the first half, but Barry caught fire in the final minutes of the first period to stay atop the SSC standings.

    LAKELAND, FL - Jonathan Lawton scored 39 points, but Florida Southern College men's basketball could not come up with the go-ahead bucket in a 92-90 overtime loss to Lynn on Saturday in Sunshine State Conference action at Jenkins Field House. The Mocs (9-6, 3-4 SSC) overcame a five-point first-half deficit to grab a late two-point lead in regulation, but the Knights (6-7, 3-4) hit a pair of free throws late in the second half and hit a game-winning three-pointer with 10 seconds left in overtime to come away with the win.

    MELBOURNE, FL - Jonathan Lawton and Brett Hanson combined for 44 points as Florida Southern College men's basketball overcame an early 11-point deficit to pick up an 89-75 win over Florida Tech on Wednesday at the Clemente Center. The Moccasins (9-5, 3-3 SSC) trailed 23-12 with just under 13 minutes to play in the first half but used a 10-0 run to get back in contention and size momentum to hand the Panthers (6-8, 1-5) their second-straight loss.
  • Hanson is SSC Player of the Week for Second Time This Season

    MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern’s Brett Hanson has been named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season and third time in his career after leading the Moccasins to a 74-71 win over 19th-ranked Southern New Hampshire on Saturday. The sophomore guard, who is from Manchester, New Hampshire, scored a team-high 23 points, and tied for the team lead with 12 rebounds and five assists.
