Mocs Sign Kiesler to Finalize Men's Recruiting Class

LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's basketball head coach Mike Donnelly has announced the signing of Pierce Kiesler as the final piece of the Moccasins four-man recruiting class for the upcoming 2018-19 campaign. Kiesler will join DeAndre Campbell, Kaiyem Cleary, and E.J. Dambreville as the four new incoming Mocs. Campbell and Cleary signed with Florida Southern in April and May, respectively, while Dambreville was the first member of the class to sign back in November.

"Pierce is an athletic and versatile forward who we feel is a really good fit in our system," said Donnelly. "We were in need of bringing in a frontcourt player who fit our style of play, so we are very excited to add Pierce to our basketball program. We love Pierce's work ethic and upside. He has a chance to be a really good player at Florida Southern."

A 6-7 forward from Louisville, KY, Kiesler was a two-time first team all-region selection at St. Xavier High School and scored 1,327 career points. He also collected 543 rebounds during his career and was named to the East-West Junior All-Star Game in 2017, was a first team Louisville Catholic Sports selection the same year, and was a two-time all-district honoree. As a senior, he averaged 18.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 60.0 percent from the floor. Kiesler helped lead the Tigers to a 20-11 record as a senior.

Kiesler comes from a basketball family where both of his brothers, Peter Walker and Brock Kiesler, played at Wittenburg University. His younger sister, Nora Kiesler, is a senior at Purdue University. All four siblings are 6-6 or taller.
