NEW ORLEANS, LA - By virtue of their respective finishes at the NCAA Division II South Region Championship, senior Bobby Ormsby and freshman Mason Jones have been named All-Region honorees Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
LAKELAND, FL - The Florida Southern men's cross country team just missed automatically qualifying for the NCAA National Championship with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Division II South Region Championship held here Saturday at Holloway Park and Nature Preserve. The top three finishing teams receive a berth to nationals.
LAKELAND, FL - The Moccasins men's cross country team will be aiming for its third regional championship in the last five seasons when Florida Southern College and the Central Florida's Polk County Sports Marketing hosts the NCAA Division II South Region men's and women's cross country championships this Saturday, Nov. 4, here at Holloway Park and Nature Preserve (2402 Holloway Park Drive). The women's 6K will get the day started at 8:30 a.m. with the men's 10K to follow at 9:45 a.m. Admission is free but the park charges $5 for parking.
MELBOURNE, FL - Florida Southern's Ben Martucci has been named the Sunshine State Conference Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year while Mason Jones was tapped the SSC Freshman of the Year as announced today by the league office. In addition, Jones joined senior Bobby Ormsby and junior Dean McGregor on the All-SSC first-team while sophomore Warran Grajalez earned a spot on the second-team.

The men's 8K race is set for 7:45 a.m. with the women's 6K to follow at 8:15 a.m. The Moccasins will be looking for their first SSC crown since 2013. Florida Southern has finished first or second in the SSC Meet in 23 of the last 30 seasons.

TALLAHASSEE, FL - Freshman Mason Jones finished fourth in the College Division (non-Division I teams) with a personal-best 8K time of 25:56.1 to pace Florida Southern to a third-place finish in the Florida State University Invitational held here Friday at the Apalachee Regional Park. The Moccasins totaled 70 points in the 10-team non-Division I portion of the Invitational, five points behind Tampa and UNC-Pembroke, both finishing with 65 points.
