  • Florida Southern Falls at Rollins in First SSC Road Match of 2018
    September 19, 2018
LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's soccer was unable to capitalize on an early second-half penalty kick goal off the foot of senior Anna Griessler. The Moccasins (2-5-1, 0-2 SSC) saw the Tars (3-0-3, 1-0 SSC) get one on the board in the second minute that snuck past freshman goalkeeper Tori Routt.
  • Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #15 (October 22, 1988)
    September 18, 2018
Florida Southern has had several wins over nationally ranked teams since polls became a regular part of the landscape in the early to mid-80s. What is interesting to note in the case of the Moccasin men’s soccer team though is how most of their biggest wins have come on the road. Four times Florida Southern has beaten a top-10 team and only one of those games took place at Barnett Field. Even a win over top-ranked Barry in 2000 was played on the road, so Trevor Clark’s performance that night will have to wait for another list to be detailed fully. Instead, the No. 16 game on this list is the first time Florida Southern ever beat a ranked team, and that did occur at Barnett Field in a game against Randolph-Macon on October 22, 1988.
  • Florida Southern Defeated by Lynn in SSC Opener
    September 15, 2018
LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's soccer was unable to overcome a late first-half goal by Lynn University. The Moccasins (2-4-1, 0-1 SSC) recorded 12 shots on the evening to the Fighting Knights (3-2-0, 1-0) 10. Lynn broke the scoreless tie with a chip shot in the 41st minute.
  • Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #16 (September 25, 1978)
    September 14, 2018
When the Sunshine State Conference was founded in 1975, it was created as a basketball conference first with other sports to follow. Many of the six charter members (Biscayne, Eckerd, Florida Southern, Rollins, Saint Leo, and UCF) had long-standing relationships with each other through the Florida Intercollegiate Conference, which continued to play soccer as a league until 1976. The SSC adopted soccer soon after, and in 1978, crowned its first champion in that sport in a tournament hosted by Florida Southern at Barnett Field. The first game in the first SSC Men’s Soccer Tournament on September 25, 1978, is No. 16 on our list.

    September 09, 2018
LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's soccer and Delta State both scored a goal in regulation as they played 110 minutes to a 1-1 draw. • Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #17 (October 26, 2013)
    September 07, 2018
If there has been one opponent throughout the years which has provided the Florida Southern women’s soccer team with the most unusual games, it has been Lynn University. How many other rivals in any conference can say they’ve played to a draw four consecutive times (in one 12-month stretch no less), or have another tie game in which both teams scored five goals without a chance to truly resolve it due to unplayable field conditions? There have been some other noteworthy encounters that did not end in ties (Moccasin wins in 2008 and in the 2009 SSC Tournament come to mind), but something about that four-game stretch of unfinished business stands out a little more. It’s the last of those games that took place on October 26, 2013, and ended 3-3 that makes No. 17 on the countdown.
  • Florida Southern Surrenders Two Late Goals in Loss at Valdosta State
    September 07, 2018
VALDOSTA, GA - In a game in which Florida Southern College women's soccer dominated for 86 minutes, the Mocs (2-3) surrendered two late goals as they lost 2-0 at Valdosta State (2-1). After the start of the game was delayed 32 minutes due to lightning the Moccasins took control of the game from the start as they fired off five shots in the first half. Freshman Tori Routt made four saves in her first collegiate start.
  • Florida Southern Fights to Victory at Lynn on Wednesday Night
    September 05, 2018
BOCA RATON, FL - Freshman goalkeeper Noelle Rolfsen turned in another clean sheet, as Florida Southern College women's soccer (2-2) defeated Lynn University (2-1), 3-0, in a non-conference match on Wednesday night. For the second time in the last three matches, Rolfsen and the Moccasin defense were a brick wall, as they shut out the opposition, while a Tatum Albrecht goal in the 40th minute was all the Mocs needed to come out on top.
  • Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #18 (September 25, 1980)
    September 04, 2018
Throughout the years, Florida Southern has had a long run of outstanding goalkeepers, beginning with the program’s first All-American, Bill Currie in the late 50s and early 60s. Rarely have the Moccasins been without one who was, at the very least, an all-conference caliber player between the posts, and the early 80s were no exception when Bobby Kramig filled that role. In his two full seasons as a starter, Kramig put up the type of numbers that may not be seen again at Florida Southern, and on September 25, 1980, he was at his best with 24 saves in a win over Florida Tech-Jensen Beach.
  • Women's Soccer Falls to Georgia College on Sunday Afternoon
    September 02, 2018
MILLEDGEVILLE, GA - Florida Southern College women's soccer (1-2) dropped an afternoon contest at Georgia College (2-0) on Sunday. A Bobcat goal in the eighth minute was all the scoring that Georgia College would need to send the Mocs back to Florida with a loss. Senior Anna Griessler fired off another six shots on the afternoon, while goalie Crista Noelle Rolfsen made a save.
  • Women's Soccer Blanks Shorter for First Win of 2018
    September 01, 2018
ROME, GA - Florida Southern College women's soccer (1-1) picked up its first victory of the season with a 3-0 shutout at Shorter (0-1). Freshman goalie Crista Noelle Rolfsen recorded her first collegiate shutout to put the Mocs in the win column. Senior Kylie Harris played a key factor in both of Florida Southern's insurance goals, as she found the back of the net in the 88th minute and then assisted on Amy Volk's goal in the 89th minute.
  • Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #19 (September 16, 1999)
    August 31, 2018
Women’s soccer was added to the Florida Southern athletic department in 1998 and joined the men’s team in calling Barnett Field home for the next 19 years. The first game in the program’s history would be a logical one to have on our top-20 countdown, but it’s not the one presented at No. 19. Instead, the first women’s soccer game on the list comes from September 16, 1999, and though it was not the Moccasins’ first win, the 5-4 decision over Rollins was their first conference win.
  • Florida Southern Drops Home Opener to No. 21 Flagler
    August 30, 2018
LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's soccer opened its season on Thursday night, playing their first game on the new Moccasin Field. The Mocs (0-1) dropped a close 3-1 contest to No. 21 Flagler (1-0). It marked 670 days since the last game on campus.
  • Women's Soccer Set to Begin New Season on New Field
    August 29, 2018
LAKELAND, FL - In its second season under head coach Paul Lawrence, Florida Southern College women's soccer will debut its talents on Moccasin Field for this first time on Thursday. Florida Southern is set to square off against in-state rival No. 21 Flagler College at 6 p.m. Thursday night before heading off to Georgia. Last season the Mocs saw themselves not only in the Sunshine State Conference tournament but hosting a first-round match against Florida Tech.
  • Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #20 (October 24, 1958)
    August 28, 2018
It would have been nice to start the countdown with the first intercollegiate game ever played at Barnett Field, but the Moccasins lost to Rollins that day in 1957, and no one wants to start a celebration of history that way. The Mocs ended up 1-1-1 at home that season, but the first game on our list and No. 20 on the countdown, was their season opener in 1958, a 5-1 win over Stetson.
  • Presenting Barnett Field's Top 20 Moments for Florida Southern Soccer
    August 25, 2018
The Florida Southern soccer teams are less than a week away from officially starting the 2018 season and playing their first games in their new on-campus home, Moccasin Field. Though Thursday night will mark the first soccer games played there, the Florida Southern lacrosse teams played on the field last spring, so a formal christening has already taken place. Likewise, the softball team opened Chris Bellotto Field in February, leaving only men’s and women’s soccer to take their first steps in a facility laid down on the same footprint as the old.
  • Sunshine State Conference Announces Preseason Coaches Poll

This year's schedule includes seven home matches, as well as two separate trips to the state of Georgia in non-conference action.
