    LAKELAND, FL - Nearly 100 Florida Southern College student-athletes, coaches, and athletics staff participated in the annual "Out of the Darkness" Community Walk around Lake Hollingsworth on Saturday to benefit the Central Florida chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

    INDIAN HARBOR BEACH, FL - The Florida Southern doubles teams of Magda Stepnik and Lorena Rionda along with Gabby Hesse and Lola Asis took top honors in their respective flights at the Florida Tech Panther Clay Court Invitational played here Sunday at the Kiwi Tennis Club. Rains forced the cancellation of the final round of singles play.

    INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH, FL - Florida Southern picked up six singles wins and a pair of doubles victories on day one of the Florida Tech Panther Women's Clay Court Invitational played here Friday at the Kiwi Tennis Club. Minnie Kim, Selin Devrimci, Magda Stepnik, Avery Hunter, Lola Asis and Gabby Hesse all picked up wins in their respective singles flights while the team of Stepnik and Lorena Rionda won in doubles as did the pairing of Hesse and Asis.
  • Southern Continues Play in Mercer Gridiron Consolation Brackets

    MACON, GA - Carolyn Cureton and Minnie Kim advanced to the finals of their respective consolation brackets of the Mercer Gridiron Classic here Saturday at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center. In addition, the doubles squad of Magda Stepnik and Lorena Rionda will also play for a consolation championship while Stepnik and Lola Asis will compete in the extra consolation draw semifinals. All action will take place on Sunday.

    MACON, GA - Carolyn Cureton won the championship of the Flight C singles consolation bracket while the doubles team of Lorenda Rionda and Magda Stepnik picked up the championship in the Flight A doubles consolation bracket of the Mercer Gridiron Classic played here Sunday at Leroy Peddy Tennis Center.

    MACON, GA - Lorena Rionda, Minnie Kim, Natalija Popovic, and Gabby Hesse all advanced in the singles play winners bracket at the Mercer Gridiron Classic here Friday at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center. Rionda and Kim advanced in Flight A while Popovic moved on in Fight B and Hesse advanced in Flight C. Florida Southern is one of just three non-Division I teams in the 16-team tournament.

    LAKELAND, FL ? Florida Southern College Athletics and its Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) have announced that the Moccasins will partner with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in a year-long effort to raise awareness and donations to help fight suicide.
  • Mocs' Play In ITA South Regionals Ends in Day Two

    LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern's Lorena Rionda saw her run in the ITA South Region Championships come to a close on Saturday with a 6-4, 6-1 quarterfinal loss to Natalie Espinal of Nova Southeastern. Also, Natalija Popovic fell, 7-5, 5-7, 10-4 to Daniel Obanda, also of Nova Southeastern, in her second match of the tournament after a win in her opening match on Friday.
  • Rionda Advances in Singles Play at ITA South Regionals

    LAKELAND, FL - Lorena Rionda picked up a pair of wins to advance in singles play at the ITA South Regional Championships held Friday at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. Rionda downed Dorotea Hanzek of Montevallo, 6-1, 6-4, in her opening round match and then topped Daryna Gukaysan of West Alabama, 6-1, 7-5. She will face Nina Furmaniak of Saint Leo in Saturday's winner bracket action.
