NEW ORLEANS – The Florida Southern women's cross country team remained at number seven for a third straight time in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Regional Poll released Tuesday.
Florida Southern returns to action this Saturday at the Trevecca D2 Showcase in Nashville, TN. In will be the Moccasins' first competition since the Holloway Park Preseason Festival on Sept. 2 in Lakeland.
Lee jumps into the number one slot while Saint Leo, last week's number one ranked team, drops to number two. Tampa moves up one slot to switch places with Montevallo. The next four teams - Embry-Riddle, Alabama-Huntsville, Florida Southern, and Christian Brothers, remain the same. Two newcomers join the poll this week as Delta is ranked ninth and Mississippi College is ranked 10th.
The USTFCCCA NCAA Division II region polls are released every week during the regular season. The poll ranks the Top 10 men's and women's cross country teams in each of the eight NCAA regions. Eight regional representatives coordinate the voting in their own region with input from the coaches.
