Jill Stephens has been associated with Florida Southern College athletics for nearly three decades. A former volleyball all-American for the Moccasins, Stephens spent 17 years as the head coach of the Florida Southern volleyball program and also served as an assistant athletic director and the department's senior woman administrator SWA. After retiring from coaching in 2018, Stephens was elevated to associate athletic director and continues to serve as the SWA. In her role, she oversees the scheduling of athletic facilities, serves as the administrator to several of the Moccasin athletic teams, and is the department's Title IX coordinator.
In 17 seasons at the helm of the Florida Southern volleyball program, Stephens compiled a record of 396-183 (.684), led the Mocs to 15 NCAA Tournament appearances, and finished her last season by taking the Moccasins all the way to the NCAA Division II National Championship match. Florida Southern finished the 2017 campaign as the national runner-up after winning their fifth NCAA South Regional title. The magical run also included the program's eighth Sunshine State Conference regular-season title.
During her tenure as head coach, Stephens produced 20 AVCA all-Americans and more than 30 all-Sunshine State Conference performers. She was the 2006 and 2017 SSC Coach of the Year, and earned AVCA South Region Coach of the Year honors in 2017. Under her guidance the Moccasins had 26 AVCA all-South Region selections, including 2017 South Region Player of the Year Nicole Mattson. The Mocs were also extremely successful in the classroom, earning multiple CoSIDA Academic all-District selections and winning several AVCA Team Academic Awards.

A 1995 graduate of Florida Southern College, Stephens also holds a master's degree in sport management from the United States Sports Academy. Before becoming the head coach of the Moccasins, Stephens spent four years as an assistant to legendary Florida Southern head coach Lois Webb. Stephens also spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Florida Atlantic. A native of Fort Lauderdale, Stephens resides in Lakeland.
