Serving as head coach of the Moccasin baseball team from 1977 to 1983, Joe Arnold compiled a career record of 316-69 for an .821 winning percentage. He guided the Moccasins to NCAA Division II national championships in 1978 and 1981 and also won six regional crowns in his seven seasons. Arnold also coached the Moccasins to four Sunshine State Conference league championships. During his seven seasons at FSC, Arnold posted a 35-16 record in NCAA postseason competition and was 68-18 in league games. Twenty-three Moccasins were named to various All-America teams under his tutelage including a school record six honorees in 1983. Named the NCAA Division II National Coach of the Year in 1978 and 1981, Arnold was named to the SSC Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Florida Southern Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988. Following his career at Florida Southern he spent ten seasons as head coach at the University of Florida where he compiled a 434-244-2 record with seven NCAA postseason appearances including a pair of trips to the College World Series. For his 17 seasons as a collegiate coach, Arnold had a 750-313-2 record and a .705 winning percentage. He was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame as a player in the summer of 2015.
