Marco Dawson was part of a powerhouse Moccasin golf program in the 1980s that won two national championships (1982, 1985) in his four-year career. Lee Janzen and Rocco Mediate were two of his teammates during his career. He saved his best golf as a collegiate player for his final round, as he shot a team-best 69 in the final round of the 1985 national championship tournament to finish 10th and help the Moccasins overcome a five-stroke deficit to win the title. Second on the team in stroke average (74.2) behind Janzen, he was an honorable mention All-America selection in 1985. Playing professionally on the PGA and Nationwide Tours since 1985, Dawson has compiled over $4 million in winnings. He has one victory on the Nationwide Tour, capturing the LaSalle Bank Open in 2002.
