Streak Extends as Mocs Defeat Warriors on Veterans Day

LAKELAND, Fla. - Four Moccasins found the back of the net as the Florida Southern College ice hockey team defeated the Tampa Warriors by a final score of 4-2 for their fourth straight win of the season.

The Tampa Warriors are made up of veterans who have sustained a combat injury or have received a disability rating from the Veteran's Administration. The Warriors are a partner program of the USA Warriors Hockey program, which plays out of the Washington D.C. area. The USA Warriors has a long tradition of helping qualified veterans on and off the ice as well as raising funds for various charities.


  • The Mocs fell behind early after an unassisted goal by Lawne Snyder of the Warriors midway through the first period. 

  • Ryley Pickrem evened out the scoring with an unassisted goal to end off the first period. 

  • Robert Dromerhouser found the back of the net in the second period off an assist from Ethan Oliva to put the Mocs in the lead before Snyder evened it back up at two shortly after. 

  • Oliva and Dromerhouser reversed roles to put the game-winner between the pipes to end off the second period. 

  • Midway through the third period, Jake Comisar netted the Mocs' fourth goal unassisted to put the game out of reach for the Warriors. 


  • Florida Southern outshot the Tampa Warriors 50-21.

  • The Mocs now move to 4-3 on the season, the program's first time over .500

  • The four-game win streak is the longest win streak in program history, as the team has outscored opponents 23 to 13.


  • The Mocs play again on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 9 p.m. as they are set to take on East Florida State at the Lakeland Ice Arena.
