LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College Department of Athletics was recognized for its community service efforts over the 2019-20 academic year, logging 4,313 total hours since July 1, 2019. As a department the Mocs ranked 25th among NCAA Division II schools nationally, and was the highest-ranked Sunshine State Conference member institution.
LAKELAND, Fla. – Until further notice, all athletic facilities at Florida Southern College are closed. This includes the Jenkins Field House, Gilbert Gymnasium, the Barnett Athletic Complex, Moccasin Field, Chris Bellotto Field, Henley Field, the Ruthven Courts, the Wellness Center and the Hollis Wellness Center Pool, Warden Tennis Courts, and all locker rooms.
MELBOURNE, Fla. - In alignment with yesterday’s NCAA Board of Governors Resolution, the Sunshine State Conference has canceled all league competitions and championships for the spring 2020 semester, effectively immediately. Member institutions will exercise institutional discretion as to practice and regular-season non-conference competition in all sports for the spring 2020 semester. This decision was unanimously agreed upon by the SSC Presidents Council and SSC Athletic Directors Council with the health, safety, and wellness of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and campus communities in mind.
LAKELAND – The NCAA has issued a statement regarding all winter and sport championships that will cancel all championships. Hence, the NCAA Men’s Basketball South Region Championship, originally scheduled to be held at the Jenkins Field House at Florida Southern, has been canceled.

LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College beach volleyball split their doubleheader against the University of Tennessee in Martin to move their record to 3-1 on the season. The Mocs No. 3 pair of junior Kayla Trefren and sophomore Haley Goodrich was the only pair to win both of their matches against the Skyhawks. Both games were closely contested as FSC picked up a 3-2 win in game one while UTM took game two by a final of 4-1.
LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College beach volleyball opened the 2020 season with a pair of dominating victories. The Mocs defeated Erskine College 4-1 in the opening match and closed out the day with a 5-0 victory St. Johns River. Between the Mocs matches, Erskine picked up its program's first victory as they defeated St. Johns River 5-0. At the end of the day, the records stood with Southern 2-0, Erskine 1-1, and St. Johns River 0-2.
LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Southern College Department of Athletics is saddened to report the passing of former Sports Information Director Bill Turnage. He passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at his home in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was 72 years old.

LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College beach volleyball head coach Hyrum Keime has released his team's schedule for the upcoming 2020 season. The Moccasins are slated to play 14 home contests this year. The season will open with four home matches against Erskine (Feb. 29), St. Johns River College (Feb. 29) and a doubleheader against Tennessee-Martin (March 3).
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Florida Southern College athletics continues to promote student-athlete success in the classroom as the department earned a Division II Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90 for the 2012 cohort, the NCAA released on Wednesday. The 90 percent mark is tied for the highest mark that the department has ever earned, with the previous record set during the 2010 six-year cohort.
