SEASIDE, CALIF. – The Florida Southern College men's golf team finished the third and final round of the Otter Invitational, and the Mocs placed 12th, out of 16 teams. The event was hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at the Bayonet & Blackhorse Golf Courses.
Barry University ran away with the Invitational, winning with a combined score of +1. Finishing in a tie for second place were the hosts and Cal State San Marcos, at +15.
After the opening round, the Mocs were in eighth place at ten-over par. After the second round, the Mocs had dropped to 11th place, at +23, before finishing in 12th place at +42.
Round three saw freshman Chris Fosdick struggle to a 76, after shooting 74-70 in the first two rounds. His combined 220 (+4) placed him in a tie for 12th place individually. He carded 14 birdies during the three rounds.
Sophomore Max Coutsolioutsos placed in a tie for 15th best for the event, at +5 (221). Max made ten birdies and a very consistent 33 pars, shooting 73-76-72.
The fall season for men's golf has now concluded. The Mocs will return to Florida for the break, and next take to the course on Monday, February 10, when Florida Southern hosts the Matlock Invitational at Lone Palm.
