LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's golf team hosted the 39th annual Matlock Collegiate Classic at Lone Palm Golf Club in Lakeland, Florida. The Mocs finished the tournament in third place with a final score of 877, two strokes behind second place.
Columbus State won the tournament with a -6 (858). In second place was Florida Tech at a +11 (875) and close behind them was Florida Southern's +13 (877). Lynn and West Florida finished in a tie for fourth with a +14 (878) to round out the top five.
Three Moccasins ended the tournament in the top 10 individually. Max Coutsolioutsos tied Agustin Errazuriz for fifth (+1, 217), and behind him at a +2 (218) was Chris Fosdick. Johnny Tucker rounded out the top 10 for the Mocs with a +3, 219.
Next up for the Mocs is the Newberry Invitational hosted by Newberry College in Kiawah, S.C. (Feb. 17-18) at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island.
