NORMAN, Okla. – Florida Southern College freshman men's golfer Chris Fosdick has earned 2020 NCAA Division II PING All-America honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America. Earlier, Fosdick had earned All-South Region laurels.
Fosdick made an immediate impact for the Mocs this year. He played all seven events, a total of 20 rounds, with an average score of 72. Eleven times he shot par or better with an overall record of 482-90.
Twice this season he earned Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Week laurels.
In his first event, the Doc Gimmler Classic hosted by St. John's University at the historic Bethpage Golf Club on Long Island, N.Y., Fosdick shot a one-under 69 in the final round, as he tied for fifth place individually, just one stroke behind the leaders.
Fosdick finished the year as the No. 26 ranked golfer in the country, according to Golfstat.com, as the Mocs are ranked No. 27.
