LAKELAND, Fla. - Throughout the month of July, Florida Southern College Athletics will release its list of team MVPs for the 2018-19 season. Each MVP was selected by the team's head coach, and the list includes some of the top student-athletes in the country. MVPs will be revealed each weekday during the month at 10 a.m., and a list of their scheduled release dates can be found below.

The Moccasins made a combined 11 NCAA postseason appearances this past year, including top-10 finishes in men's golf (third), women's basketball (ninth) and women's lacrosse (ninth).

More than 500 student-athletes, coaches, staff, and invited guests were in attendance.
MELBOURNE, FL - Four Florida Southern men's lacrosse student-athletes earn All-SSC honors. Follow the teams first winning season in conference play since the inaugural SSC men's lacrosse season in 2014, the Mocs have landed three on the first and second teams and two were named to the all-freshman team. Austen Lison was the lone Moccasin on the first team. Jeff Atlas and Kyle Silverstein both were named to the second team while Atlas was joined by Sean Nolan on the all-freshman team. The Mocs have landed at least two players on the all-freshman team since the first year in 2014.
MELBOURNE, FL - Maxwell Freestone proved to be a brick wall in goal for Florida Southern College men's lacrosse as it picked up an 11-8 victory at Florida Tech to close out the 2019 season. The Mocs (9-7, 4-3 SSC) finished with a plus .500 winning percentage in conference play for the first time since 2014. The Panthers dropped to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in SSC play.
LAKELAND, FL - Dalton Simpson records a career-high six goals as Florida Southern College men's lacrosse closed out the home portion of the 2019 regular season with a 25-16 victory over Embry-Riddle on Moccasin Field on Saturday. The Mocs (8-7, 3-3 SSC) improved to a game above .500 and kept the Eagles (8-8, 0-6 SSC) still searching for its first SSC win of 2019.

Appio becomes the third Moccasin to win the player of the week honors for 2019 and the second in as many weeks. Austen Lison earned defensive honors last week.

LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 14-9 loss to No. 8 Belmont Abbey at Moccasin Field on Friday afternoon. The Mocs (5-4, 1-0 SSC) were unable to get the ball past the Abbey (9-1) goalie made 17 saves on 26 shots on goal.

MOUNT OLIVE, NC - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse was unable to overcome a late run by Mount Olive in the fourth quarter. The Mocs (2-3) were shutout in the third quarter, which allowed the Trojans (6-1) to build a lead on their way to the win.
WINGATE, NC - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse suffered an overtime loss at Wingate on Wednesday night. In a game that saw neither team hold more than a three-goal lead, Dalton Simpson tied the game up at 12-12 with just 37 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The Mocs (2-2) saw the Bulldogs (4-1) string together a 3-0 run late in the third quarter to midway through the fourth quarter to put the momentum back on the home side.

MONTEVALLO, AL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse picked up its first win of the season with a 20-12 victory at the University of Montevallo. Freshmen Jeff Atlas tied a program record with five assists in a game. Atlas ended the afternoon with five goals for a total of ten points. The Mocs (1-1) had six players record multiple goals, while the Falcons (1-4) had just three.
ORLANDO, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse opened its season with a set back to the University of Tampa at Lake Highland Prep in Orlando on Saturday afternoon. The Mocs (0-1) were successful on 14 of 53 total shots, while the Spartans (1-1) converted 17 of 37 total shots.
LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse will open the 2019 season with a neutral site contest in Orlando against the University of Tampa. The game will take place at Lake Highland Prep on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. The Mocs will open the home portion of their schedule when they host Emmanuel at Moccasin Field on March 3 at 4 p.m.
MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Southern College men's lacrosse has been selected to finish sixth in the annual Sunshine State Conference preseason coaches poll. For the sixth-consecutive season, Sunshine State Conference coaches select the University of Tampa as the preseason favorite. With 48 points and six first-place votes in the poll, the Spartans are expected to recapture the league championship.
