As a junior (2017)… Played in six games as a reserve midfielder or defender (the first four and final two of the regular season) and took his only shot in the season-opening 4-1 win over Shorter (Sept. 2)… Averaged 20 minutes per match.

As a sophomore (2016)… NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award winner… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Played in all but one of the Moccasins’ 14 games, starting six of them… Went all 90 minutes on the back line in shutouts wins over Warner (Sept. 4) and Nova Southeastern (Sept. 14)… Averaged 44 minutes per match.

As a freshman (2015)… One of only two true freshmen to see significant minutes for the Moccasins, playing in all but one of their 14 games… Came off the bench for 45 minutes in the season opener against Lees-McRae (Sept. 3) before making his first start in game two against 2014 NCAA quarterfinalist Young Harris (Sept. 5)… Picked up assists in two of his first three games… Moved into the starting lineup full time for the final five games of the season at left back, helping the Mocs to a 3-1-1 record during that stretch with three shutouts… Averaged 54 minutes per match overall.

In high school… Came to Florida Southern from Redmond, Washington where he played for Redmond High School and the Crossfire Premier club program… Played for Mark Collings with Crossfire Premier, who is also the head coach of Seattle Pacific University, one of the top Division II programs in the West Region… Helped Crossfire reach the WSYSA State Cup semifinals in 2013 and 2014… Team was league runner-up in 2013 before winning it in 2014… Played three seasons for Redmond High School as a 3-year starter, his first two under head coach Patrick Scheibe and his senior year under Tom Bunnell… Scored 11 goals with 11 assists as a senior midfielder when he was 4A Second Team All-State, a nominee for Washington’s Gatorade Player-of-the-Year, and First Team All-King County… Chosen to play in the King County 4A All-Star Game… Had five goals with two assists as a junior when he was First Team All-King County… Second team all-county as a sophomore with 16 goals and eight assists… Won the Team Academic Excellence Award twice… Served as team captain for the Mustangs his senior year… Spent his freshman year at Wilson High School in Portland, Oregon playing for head coach John Madding, and helped the Trojans reach the OSAA State Finals in 2012 with one goal and five assists… Has several former teammates now playing for NCAA programs in the Pacific Northwest… Played with one of those former club teammates at Florida Southern, 2017 graduate Mike Cortright… Personal… Son of Kevin Coomer and Catalina Gallo… Born and raised in Colombia before moving to the United States… Has a cousin who plays for the Colombian National Team… Lists Manchester City (English Premier League) and the Seattle Seahawks as his favorite sports teams.
