  • FSC Athletics Ranked 25th in 2019-20 Helper Helper Final Report

    LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College Department of Athletics was recognized for its community service efforts over the 2019-20 academic year, logging 4,313 total hours since July 1, 2019. As a department the Mocs ranked 25th among NCAA Division II schools nationally, and was the highest-ranked Sunshine State Conference member institution.

  • Ashley Holmes Promoted to Head Coach for Florida Southern Men's Soccer

    LAKELAND, Fla. – Ashley Holmes has been named the new Head Coach for the Florida Southern College men’s soccer program. Director of Athletics Drew Howard made the announcement today. Holmes had been an assistant coach for the past six seasons, then was elevated to Interim Head Coach earlier in March.
  • All Florida Southern College Athletic Facilities Closed

    LAKELAND, Fla. – Until further notice, all athletic facilities at Florida Southern College are closed. This includes the Jenkins Field House, Gilbert Gymnasium, the Barnett Athletic Complex, Moccasin Field, Chris Bellotto Field, Henley Field, the Ruthven Courts, the Wellness Center and the Hollis Wellness Center Pool, Warden Tennis Courts, and all locker rooms.
  • SSC Cancels All Spring 2020 League Competitions and Championships

    MELBOURNE, Fla. - In alignment with yesterday’s NCAA Board of Governors Resolution, the Sunshine State Conference has canceled all league competitions and championships for the spring 2020 semester, effectively immediately. Member institutions will exercise institutional discretion as to practice and regular-season non-conference competition in all sports for the spring 2020 semester. This decision was unanimously agreed upon by the SSC Presidents Council and SSC Athletic Directors Council with the health, safety, and wellness of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and campus communities in mind.
  • NCAA Cancels all Winter and Spring Championships

    LAKELAND – The NCAA has issued a statement regarding all winter and sport championships that will cancel all championships. Hence, the NCAA Men’s Basketball South Region Championship, originally scheduled to be held at the Jenkins Field House at Florida Southern, has been canceled.
  • Mocs Place 67 on SSC Commissioner's Fall Sports Honor Roll

    MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Southern College has placed 67 student-athletes on the 2019 Fall Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, it was announced by Commissioner Ed Pasque. A total of 31 FSC student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA.
  • Former Florida Southern SID Bill Turnage Passes at Age 72

    LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Southern College Department of Athletics is saddened to report the passing of former Sports Information Director Bill Turnage. He passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at his home in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was 72 years old.

  • Eduardo Capote Named Third Team All-South Region by United Soccer Coaches

    KANSAS CITY, MO. – The United Soccer Coaches honored Florida Southern College senior midfielder Edu Capote, by naming him to their NCAA Division II Men's All-Region Third Team. The award was voted on by the head soccer coaches in the South Region.

    AUSTIN, TEXAS – The 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men's Soccer team has been announced, and Florida Southern College midfielder Eneko Lasheras has been named to the Second Team. As selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the 2019 Academic All-America® Men's Soccer Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

  • FSC Men's Soccer Ends Season with 3-0 Loss to PBA in SSC Tournament Quarterfinals

    WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – On a windy night at Rinker Athletic Complex, the sixth-seeded Florida Southern College men’s soccer team (5-6-5) fell to third-seeded Palm Beach Atlantic (13-2-2) in the Quarterfinals of the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Championships, by a 3-0 score. The Sailfish, who entered the game No. 7 in the national USC coaches poll, advances to the SSC Semifinals to play at the second-seeded Florida Tech Panthers on Thursday, November 14.
  • Florida Southern Men's Soccer Primed for SSC Tournament Play

    LAKELAND, FLA. – The Florida Southern College men’s soccer team has qualified for the Sunshine State Conference tournament as the sixth seed, and will travel to West Palm Beach on Monday, November 11, to face third seeded Palm Beach Atlantic at 7:00 p.m. in a Quarterfinal Round match. This is the third time in as many seasons that the Moccasins have qualified for the postseason, and seventh overall appearance. This is only the second year that PBA has been eligible for the SSC postseason, and the first time these two schools will have met.

    GREENWOOD, IND. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) honored two Florida Southern College men’s soccer student-athletes today with 2019 Academic All-District® laurels. Senior defender Claus Lehland and senior midfielder Eneko Lasheras both were voted onto the NCAA Division II District 5 team, which comprises 13 student-athletes from the Gulf South, Southern Intercollegiate, and Sunshine State Conferences.

    LAKELAND, FLA. – Anton Lindbom returned to the pitch today for the Florida Southern College men’s soccer team, and scored the game winning goal as the Mocs defeated visiting University of Mary, 2-1. In the final non-conference match of the year, the Mocs earned their fourth win, and are now 4-4-5 on the season, while UMary drops to 1-10-1.
  • Meehan Scores Twice as FSC Men's Soccer Ties Eckerd, 2-2

    ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. – Behind a pair of goals from James Meehan, the Florida Southern College men’s soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with Eckerd College on Wednesday night. The tie moves FSC to a 3-4-5 overall record, including a 2-2-4 mark inside the Sunshine State Conference, while Eckerd moves to 6-5-2, and 2-4-1 in the conference.
  • Florida Southern Men's Soccer Beats Barry to Move into Third Place in SSC

    MIAMI SHORES, FLA. – The Florida Southern College men’s soccer team returned to the win column on Saturday, taking a 2-0 decision at Barry University. The Mocs had gone three straight matches without a win, and are now 3-4-4 overall, and 2-2-3 in the Sunshine State Conference. Barry drops to 4-9 overall, and 1-5 in the SSC.
  • Florida Southern Places in Top-10 Percent of Division II With Academic Success Rate of 90 Percent

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Florida Southern College athletics continues to promote student-athlete success in the classroom as the department earned a Division II Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90 for the 2012 cohort, the NCAA released on Wednesday. The 90 percent mark is tied for the highest mark that the department has ever earned, with the previous record set during the 2010 six-year cohort.

    MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men’s soccer team carried play for the bulk of regulation, yet dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 5 Florida Tech on Saturday night. Tech scored all three goals in the last ten minutes of the game to steal the victory. Tech remains undefeated at 8-0-1 (4-0-1 Sunshine State Conference), while Southern drops to 2-4-4 (1-2-3 SSC).

    LAKELAND, FLA. – The Florida Southern College men's soccer team posted a hard-fought 1-1 draw with the University of Tampa on Wednesday night. The Sunshine State conference match featured two of the top five teams in the conference. Florida Southern is now 2-3-4 overall, and 1-1-3 in the SSC, while Tampa is now 4-4-1 overall, and 2-2-1 in the SSC.
  • Florida Southern Soccer Programs Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for Eighth Consecutive Year

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Florida Southern College men's and women's soccer have earned their eighth consecutive United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards. United Soccer Coaches have announced the Team Academic Award winners to recognize exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year. A total of 995 college teams (346 men, 649 women) earned the Team Academic Award. Florida Southern was one of 258 schools who had both their men's and women's programs among the recipients.

No. 17 Lynn remains undefeated at 6-0-1 (3-0-1 Sunshine State Conference), while FSC drops to 2-3-3 (1-1-2 SSC).
