Moccasins Ranked No. 14 in DII Bulletin Preseason Poll

LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's basketball has been selected as the No. 14 team in the nation according to the DII Bulletin Preseason Poll, which was released this week. The Moccasins, who are coming off a 25-5 season last year, are the only Sunshine State Conference team to be ranked in the top 25. Florida Southern won both the SSC regular-season and conference tournament titles a year ago and received the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Mocs will be led by two returning honorable mention all-Americans (Camille Giardina and Anja Fuchs-Robetin) as head coach Betsy Harris, last year's SSC Coach of the Year enters her fifth year at the helm of the program. In all, the Moccasins return four of last year's five starters and will have the services of Florida Atlantic transfer Julia Jenike, who redshirted last season after transferring from FAU.

Florida Southern kicks off the 2018-19 campaign on the road in Saint Leo, FL for the GSC/SSC Challenge with games against Lee (Nov. 9) and Shorter (Nov. 10). The Mocs open their home slate on Nov. 19 against Puerto Rico-Mayaguez and will play 14 home games this season.
