ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) has named Florida Southern College women's basketball student-athlete Julia Jenike a 2020 WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches' All-America Honorable Mention.
Jenike is the only Sunshine State Conference women's basketball student-athlete to be recognized by the WBCA this season as an All-American.
A junior, Jenike led the Mocs to an overall record of 19-11, including a 15-5 record in the Sunshine State Conference. Florida Southern had finished third in the conference, and earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Championships as the No. 7 seed in the South Regional.
Earlier this month, Jenike was named First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference.
Jenike led Southern in scoring with 15.9 points per game, the fourth highest total in the Sunshine State Conference. In conference games, Jenike averaged 16.7 points per game. She made over 45% of her shots from the floor, including 41% from three-point land.
"These young women have performed at an elite level of play throughout the season, and have inspired fans and young athletes alike," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle M. Donehew. "The WBCA is proud to honor each of these student-athletes whose dedication and commitment to the sport has helped elevate our game to a new level."
