Gartrell Named 2018-19 MVP

LAKELAND, Fla. - Throughout the month of July, Florida Southern College Athletics will release its list of team MVPs for the 2018-19 season. Each MVP was selected by the team's head coach, and the list includes some of the top student-athletes in the country. MVPs will be revealed each weekday during the month at 10 a.m., and a list of their scheduled release dates can be found below.

This year's women's golf MVP is Amanda Gartrell, who was an all-America, all-region, and all-conference selection for the second year in a row. This year, Gartrell posted five top-five finishes including a win at the Argonaut Invitational in April. She finished tied for fourth at this year's Sunshine State Conference Championship and qualified for the NCAA South Regional for the second year in a row.

Gartrell led the Moccasins in stroke average this year, posting a career-best 74.39 with a season-best two-under 70 at the Lady Moc Classic in February. Gartrell's 2018-19 MVP honor is the third of her career after winning the award as a freshman and sophomore.
