Mocs Women's Lacrosse's Julia Couch Named CoSIDA Academic All-District ®

AUSTIN, Texas – Florida Southern College women's lacrosse student-athlete Julia Couch has been voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team.

CoSIDA does not produce All-District® or All-America® teams for several sports, including women's lacrosse. Those sports are all lumped together in the At-Large category.

The 2020 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Honorees selected Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 16-19.

A Communication, Advertising, PR & Film Studies major, Couch recently graduated with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. On the field, the attack recorded 15 goals and five assists in 2020, playing in all nine games. For her career, she has produced 67 goals and 61 assists, in 66 career games played. She has collected 44 groundballs, caused 13 turnovers, and has 14 draw controls.

The Mocs finished the 2020 season ranked No. 7 in the nation by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. Florida Southern posted a 6-3 record, with wins over several ranked programs, including No. 1 Adelphi, 8-4, No. 21 Seton Hill, 19-3, and No. 6 Regis (Colo.).
