Mocs Swimmers Begin NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – The Florida Southern College women's and men's swimming programs are at the NCAA Division II Championships this weekend, hosted at the SPIRE Institute. Day One of the four-day competition saw several Mocs in action.

On the women's side, senior Malin Wallen swam in the women's 200 IM, and placed 30th in the prelims with a time of 2:05.37. She performed less than a second off of her seeding time of 2:04.7. She did not advance to the evening's championship finals.

On the men's side, junior Matias Lopez swam in the men's 200 IM, and placed 25th with a time of 1:50.18, including a final split of 26.73. He did not advance to the evening's championship finals.

The 1000 free saw two Mocs compete, freshman Luka Prostran and sophomore Cole Smith. Prostran finished in 27th place in 9:23.56, with Smith not far behind in 32nd with a time of 9:28.13.
