Women's Tennis Finishes Fall Season at Hatter Invitational

DELAND, Fla. - Magda Stepnik and Mathilda Vidgren earned singles victories against Division-I foe Stetson as Florida Southern College women's tennis finished competition Sunday afternoon at the Hatter Invitational at the Mandy Stoss Tennis Center. The Moccasins have now finished fall play and will turn their attention to the spring season.


  • Minnie Kim fell 6-3 in the first set and put up a fight in a 7-5 second set against Lucie Renault.
  • Laura Vetter won a 7-5 first set but dropped a 6-3 second set and a 10-5 tiebreaker to Danel Ashirova.
  • Lola Asis lost 6-2, 6-0 to Noa Cohen.
  • Stepnik cruised 6-0 in the second set after a 7-6 first set over Anna Dovgopilyi.
  • Vidgren vanquished Megan Horawitz 6-1, 6-3.
  • Renault and Ashirova won 6-2 over Kim and Vetter.
  • Vidgren and Asis battled hard in a 6-4 win for Cohen and Horawitz.


  • Southern will have three months of competition off before competing at the UT Round Robin from Jan. 1 to Feb. 2.
