  • Cantor and Flemming Earn Academic All-District Honors for Second-Straight Year

    AUSTIN, Texas - Florida Southern College women's track student-athletes Hannah Flemming and Addison Cantor were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field / Cross Country Team on Friday. Flemming and Cantor are two of the 11 student-athletes selected to represent District 5, which is comprised of institutions from the Sunshine State Conference, Gulf South Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
  • FSC Athletics Ranked 25th in 2019-20 Helper Helper Final Report

    LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College Department of Athletics was recognized for its community service efforts over the 2019-20 academic year, logging 4,313 total hours since July 1, 2019. As a department the Mocs ranked 25th among NCAA Division II schools nationally, and was the highest-ranked Sunshine State Conference member institution.

  • All Florida Southern College Athletic Facilities Closed

    LAKELAND, Fla. – Until further notice, all athletic facilities at Florida Southern College are closed. This includes the Jenkins Field House, Gilbert Gymnasium, the Barnett Athletic Complex, Moccasin Field, Chris Bellotto Field, Henley Field, the Ruthven Courts, the Wellness Center and the Hollis Wellness Center Pool, Warden Tennis Courts, and all locker rooms.
  • SSC Cancels All Spring 2020 League Competitions and Championships

    MELBOURNE, Fla. - In alignment with yesterday’s NCAA Board of Governors Resolution, the Sunshine State Conference has canceled all league competitions and championships for the spring 2020 semester, effectively immediately. Member institutions will exercise institutional discretion as to practice and regular-season non-conference competition in all sports for the spring 2020 semester. This decision was unanimously agreed upon by the SSC Presidents Council and SSC Athletic Directors Council with the health, safety, and wellness of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and campus communities in mind.
  • NCAA Cancels all Winter and Spring Championships

    LAKELAND – The NCAA has issued a statement regarding all winter and sport championships that will cancel all championships. Hence, the NCAA Men’s Basketball South Region Championship, originally scheduled to be held at the Jenkins Field House at Florida Southern, has been canceled.
  • Cantor Destroys School Record in 5,000 meter

    TAMPA, Fla. - Addison Cantor obliterated the school record in the 5,000 meter, running in a blistering 17:25.79 at the Tampa Track Classic #2 on Friday night. With this performance, Cantor now holds six of the top 10 times in school history in the event.

    TAMPA, Fla. - Ysabella Guerra set the school record in the 3000 meter at the Tampa Track Classic #1. Eight members of the Florida Southern College women’s track team set personal bests during the meet. 
  • Former Florida Southern SID Bill Turnage Passes at Age 72

    LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Southern College Department of Athletics is saddened to report the passing of former Sports Information Director Bill Turnage. He passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at his home in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was 72 years old.
  • Mocs Sweep 3,000 Meter Podium at Embry-Riddle

    DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Ysabella Guerra won the women’s 3,000 meter event at the Embry-Riddle Indoor-Outdoor Challenge while recording the second fastest time in school history. Florida Southern College women’s track posted five top-ten finishes, all good enough to enter the record books.

  • Florida Southern Places in Top-10 Percent of Division II With Academic Success Rate of 90 Percent

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Florida Southern College athletics continues to promote student-athlete success in the classroom as the department earned a Division II Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90 for the 2012 cohort, the NCAA released on Wednesday. The 90 percent mark is tied for the highest mark that the department has ever earned, with the previous record set during the 2010 six-year cohort.
